Clinical Studies of Lung Cancer

Abstract
Lung cancer became one of the moat common malignancies .in Korea and the advent of Fiberoptic bronchoscope made its diagnosis more accurate. The authors gathered 52 cases of lung cancer by bronchospic biopsy or sputum cytology, and the following results were obtained.
1) The male to female ratio wart 4.8£º1 and the moat prevalent age was sixth decades.
2) Usual clinical presentations were cough, dyspnea and cutest pain in order.
3) At the time of admission, 30 cases(57.7%) were thought as lung cancer and the remainders as other pulmonary diseases.
4) The most common histologic type was squamous cell carcinoma which consitutes 55.8% of total cartes and the prevalent sites were both upper lobe bronchi.
5) On bronchoscopy, trachea and carina were almost normal and sasses were identified in 27cases(51.9%).
